Mining Profitability - profitable?

Recommended Posts

can anyone who has the time work out if and how profitable it currently is to mine neoscrypt on BSOD?

i get that it's 52.1 Mh/s for neoscrypt atm.
Neoscrypt gives about 8k coins a day?
8k coins at 0.015 = 120USD

my 1080ti does about 1.4+ MH/s

1.4/52.1= 0.0269

so with my 1x 1080ti theoretically is 3.2 USD a day (before electric)

after electron at say 0.15 usd/kWh, probably 2.5 USD a day?

This seems more profitable than any other gpu minable coin atm, or did i make some errors?

This network speed has not been for a long time, just network statistics do not work in the pool.

According to my calculations, 5000-5500 CHI

But in general, you are right!

Where do you get this number? I had a bug when calculating the post-fork hashrate earlier because I assumed 1 block per minute. I think you may need to multiply that by 1.5 (60/40 sec) to give ~ 80 MH/s.

The way we do it is to calculate the reward if you add a certain hashrate to the network. It isn't a big deal for your case though since your HR in the denominator is negligible enough to be ignored:

1.4/(52.1 + 1.4) ~ 0.0261

So I get (before electricity):

.75 * 2880 * 3.829 * 4.5e-6 * 3400 * 1.4/(80 + 1.4) ~ 2.18 usd/day

According to my calculations, 5000-5500 CHI

About 3/4 the blocks are NeoScrypt now and there is a block of ~3.829 chi every 30 seconds

2*60*24 = 2880 blocks/day

.75*2880 = 2160 NeoScrypt blocks per day

3.829 * 2160 = 8270.64 NeoScrypt mined chi/day

I was looking at the nethash on bsod.

If you are right. That's still good minining atm

Even their estimate on the chart  of their own pool hashrate is higher than 50 MH/s: http://bsod.pw/site/mining

So like OSYA said it appears there is a bug. According to my calculations, the actual hashrate is closer to 150 MH/s right now.

@DarkClaw -  is this working properly on xaya-gaming.net now? (current hash rate based on last x blocks or whatever?)

Yes, it should be correct. I got very near to the expected number of blocks when mining neoscrypt a few weeks ago.

https://medium.com/@bsodpool/how-to-mine-solo-8a9910037c09

https://bsod.pw is the first public yiimp-based SOLO pool.

What does it mean?
It means that if you have enough power to solve blocks by yourself, it will be much easier for you:

  • Now you don’t have to worry about configuring and maintaining your own pool.
  • No need to look for a private pool at a risk of running into scammers.
  • You don’t have to mine on a pool and share reward with the others.

why cant we just find a pool to mine on that uses total hash rate not solo.. and why would i pay a pool to solo mine when i can do it at home 0 fees?

if u got  5+ rigs or separate location, it will be easy to setup and manage by pool, no need to have wallet open in each rigs.

that's why I switch the solo at home  to pool shared even got fees

also some of the miner like me would be happy to set  shared mode and miner with others
