  1. Fuck Jodons. Really. I mean it. I hate them. Lionis is the fiery 8th plane of Hell and Jodies are the demons that infest the place. Still, it’s rather sad how they got stuck with being sent there. The place is a hellhole of a planet. I’m glad I live here and not on Lionis, even if there were no Jodies there. The spin axis and speed of rotation of Lionis is just “perfect”. Perfect so that 1 side of the planet perpetually faces its sun, Ayre. The other side of the planet is in perpetual darkness. “Perfect.” Just more religious bollocks the Jodies push in their stupid holotainment propaganda. Consequently that trash heap of a planet has its habitable zone running in a thin band around it. How messed up is that? I’m certain that light has played a big part in how they’ve “evolved” or devolved as the case may be. I’m glad we didn’t get dumped there for eternity. I saw one fellow ranting on in a holovid that the magneto-lava pools actually made Jodons better and stronger people! Then he linked to some conspiracy stuff about how the magnetic fields around the lava pools on Lionis forced greater moral evolution in Jodies. Some garbage about magnetism and brain chemistry. Bullshit. They’re animals and everyone knows it. Forget their heavy engineering accomplishments, they’ve become a sort of feral human. Don’t get me wrong. Some of the beaches look nice, and there are nice “twilight” zones for honeymooners, but there’s no way to get there anyways, so who cares? Besides, those places are still stagnant in perpetually the same so-called “natural” lighting conditions. I saw on the news about some Jodon cult town suddenly going mad en masse and slaughtering each other. Weird. That disappeared from the solarnet pretty fast, but I managed to save a copy. But that reminds me of that yet another one of those stories from the back side of the planet, in the darkness, that one village, I forget the name of it. One of those mushroom eater places. Those buggers were mad too. Rumours have it that there was a cannibal cult there and nobody tried to stop it. There are lots of conspiracy sites out there that get into it pretty deep. I saw one about Baron Vostok performing some kind of occult ritual and sacrificing and eating his own newborn child! I couldn’t finish reading as it was pretty sick. Who knows if the rumours are true though? I’m not making excuses for Baron Vostok. He’s an absolute, bloodthirsty bastard, but who would seriously do that? Unbelievable. If true, they need to get rid of that. I don’t know how they live knowing that at any time they might be sacrificed by their very own friends and family! Bizarre. I’ll never understand them. Eat the weak? Feed the strong? They’re nuts. And 3 of their top 10 holotainment shows are arena battles. Animals actually die there and they cheer it on! Forget that sometimes people get eaten or ripped to shreds. Those shows top the charts and go viral on solarnet. “Moral evolution” my ass. They’re predators pure and simple. Seriously, fuck Jodies. That’s what happens there. And as for those conspiracy theories, I think the magneto-lava pools do have something to do with their moral compass, but not like most Jodies think. That Lionis is in any way “natural” for humans? It’s not! God, I can’t wait to finish training, get to Taurion, and smoke some of those scumbags. Who cares if half of the top 10 holotainment programs are Jodonite. Fuck ‘em. ### A rant post on Xayanet by RainSerpent425 from Verdis. ### Find out how you can get to Taurion at https://taurion.io/. ### Want to know more about the benefits of blockchain for gaming? 2. The Crypto Games Conference went well, and everyone knows about XAYA. Here are some photos from the event.
  3. That looks awesome! And yes, I'm a bit jealous! 😉
  4. @DarkClaw I think it's best for @snailbrain to chime in about this. He's still in Minsk, so might be another day or so before he's back and caught up to reply here.
  5. The auditorium fell silent as Minister of Space Exploration Jethus Issac stepped onto the stage and up to the podium for the keynote speech on graduation day. Recent news about Taurion and who would be selected for the first expeditions there hyped up the excitement. They’d completed their Taurion preparedness training. Would their graduating class be chosen? Today’s ceremony was being broadcast on solarnet, so anticipation was high. “10s of thousands or 100s of thousands of years… what does it matter? The point is, it was a very long time ago that the Great Exodus began. Earth was beaten. A shell of its once incredible splendour. Virtually uninhabitable, and certainly would be uninhabitable shortly. Why is less important, but scholars today still debate the true problem. In this Great Exodus, the best hope for the continuation of the human race would flee that dying planet. Many would be left behind to try and salvage what they could of planet Earth. It would take many years as resources from bases on the Moon, Titan, and other places in the Solar system would have to be repurposed or salvaged to build the great ships that would bring us all here. We would forever say goodbye to our planet, Earth, and our star, Sol, and head towards what appeared to be 12 viably “inhabitable” planets. Not everyone would escape though. Resources on Earth ran low, and many scheduled convoys never arrived here. Further, cryostasis pods would keep most people safe through the long journey, but 5,000 years is a long time for a pod to continue functioning. We lost many people. We can only pray. May God have mercy on the many souls lost. We thank them for their sacrifice. But we did arrive at long last. Or, at least the 3 Houses destined for this sector of the galaxy would arrive at our determined planets. We still know nothing of the remaining 9 Houses, and still don’t have the means to find out. House Jodon would settle on the planet Lionis, a vile, volcanic world where one side of the planet perpetually faced its sun. Seemingly unending centuries of hardship would make the Jodons a callous people. House Reubo would settle in a nearby solar system on the planet Aquarion. With 95% of the planet covered by water, the Reubos would adapt to scarcity through ingenuity and innovation. Our House, House Ephrati would settle on Verdis. Exquisitely lush with thick vegetation, it’s beauty was unmatched by any on Earth. But so were its dangers similarly unmatched. Toxic foliage, venomous creatures and gargantuan beasts made each day survived one to celebrate. However, over the years we Ephrati would gradually learn from our environment and develop long term strategies of survival. While Lionis, Aquarion and Verdis are all survivable, they’re all still resource poor. Certainly they may have abundances of some resources, but not enough to truly rebuild civilisation such as the once great Earth boasted. Thousands of years passed and each House physically kept to their own. How could they justify the travel costs without the means to fuel them profitably for trade? As you may have heard, over a year ago a strange transmission was detected from a nearby solar system. It was strong, clear, and obviously from some form of highly intelligent civilisation. It was also undecipherable. Long range communications between our 3 Houses has ramped up well beyond our normal media, idle chatter and holotainment programs. The planet orbits a brown dwarf star inside of its plasma sheath. That the signal came through to us was a freak of nature. Physical investigation was needed. Probes from each House were sent and it has been determined that this planet is rich in minerals, fuels, metals, and other badly needed resources. Resources that could be used to thrive, prosper, and even eliminate fuel rationing. Once probe data was collated and processed, scouts were sent. What they found would astound everyone. They found a large, sophisticated, ancient building left there by someone, or something. The building is still functional, and inside the air is breathable. But it is the building’s Great Hall that is of most significance. It’s ornately decorated with pictures, sculptures, and undecipherable glyphs… undecipherable all except one that’s written in an ancient tongue from old Earth, “Taurion”, after which we have named the planet. But more than prosper, Taurion is rich enough for us to rebuild the great ships of old, but this time with superior technologies. Reaching out to the stars is within our grasp. Newly developed, albeit still theoretical, trans-light engines will make finding the other 9 Houses, or at a minimum discovering their fates, a very real possibility. The opportunity to reunite Humanity after countless millennia is laid at our feet. Ladies and gentlemen before me today, you have been immersed in the knowledge needed for us to forge this new, bright future. You have prepared yourselves in mind, spirit, and body to venture forth and begin the Great Quest. We will gather the resources we need. We will restore the great ships of old for intra-galactic travel. We will speed the great ships of old with our new technologies to travel in weeks what once took us thousands of years. We will do this for pride. We will do this for honour. We will do this for our House!” Minister Issac shouted. “And you…” The Minister paused and took a more somber tone, “You will go to Taurion.” The silence broke. The students rejoiced, clapping, standing, whistling, pumping their arms in the air and chanting the name of their House, Ephrati. Yes. This was a moment of pride, honour, and duty. They would go to Taurion. ### Find out more about Taurion at https://taurion.io/ https://medium.com/@XAYA/taurion-graduation-day-320641a8d1e2

  7. Hello Paul! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. And yes, you've made a good point. The short answer is that realtime gaming will be fully available inside of XAYA Game Channels. We've not released that yet, but it is coming. At the moment games are limited to ~30 second blocks. Some information on mining and block speeds is available here: https://github.com/xaya/xaya/blob/master/doc/xaya/mining.md#high-level-overview-for-triple-purpose-mining- Once we've implemented the game channels technology, realtime gaming will be possible. However, I should mention that there is a small caveat there. Due to the XAYA network being P2P, there is a bit more latency than in a strictly server-based game. This will have limiting effects for games where tiny millisecond differences are important, such as in some First Person Shooter games. Now, that could be dealt with in different ways to limit the negative effects of a P2P network by grouping players into groups with lower ping times between them or perhaps some other method. (There is all the issue of what "realtime" means in some computing jargon, such as for a realtime OS. However, that sort of computing really isn't very relevant for our purposes, and is rather niche. None of Windows, Linux, or Mac are realtime OSes.) The realtime gaming experience is coming. We hope to have Game Channels out as soon as we can manage. Hopefully I've answered your question. If not, let me know and I'll try to clarify. Cheers, Ryan
  8. Decentralised, autonomous, boundless. Taurion is an online gaming experience like nothing before it. Spread across factions and a massive alien landscape, gamers will have the opportunity to compete and harvest resources in a limitless environment entirely driven by the player. With roots in the pioneer Huntercoin experiment, Taurion is an evolutionary project that leverages the XAYA blockchain to create something truly unparalleled. Taurion is poised to act as a leader in ushering in the next era of online gaming. For the first time, users will experience an MMORPG experience that remains unburdened from the constraints inherent to its predecessors facilitated within traditional gaming environments. 9. Ping @SM Alex @Gorski @domob @snailbrain. Can you guys help with @Christian Pichler's questions above?
  10. For my own take on this issue, it may make sense to "defend" a name by claiming similar names, but only up to a point, after which it becomes impractical. For example, it may make sense to register the following: user User USER But beyond that I don't think it's practical as you can get into situations like this: us3r Us3r US3R u53r u5er etc. Then, you also have the following situation: " user" "user " etc. My guess is that games should filter what they consider "illegal" names, e.g. names that begin or start with a space or that contain quotes, etc. I rather doubt that people will register exhaustive defenses against similar names, so bloat will not likely be an issue there. It's not practical, and games will most likely filter for what they consider illegal names. Or, perhaps in other words, just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean that you SHOULD do it. However, that's my own personal take on it. How things bear out in reality remains to be seen.

    Big 4 Updates

Big 4 Updates We have several updates for you. Soccer Manager Elite beta sign up is live Taurion update MMX partnership Blockchain Gaming Alliance Soccer Manager Elite You can now sign up to the SME beta program. Only a limited number of players will be able to participate, so act now if you wish to join. You can sign up here at the bottom of the page: https://soccermanagerelite.com/ SME is a blockchain-powered version of the popular Soccer Manager Worlds MMO. However, this takes soccer management to entirely new levels of ownership and live action. Never before has any game offered this level of intensity in this exclusive player-driven game world. You can own part of a club, propose and vote for managers and sign new players. Or even let your managers have free reign to do as they please. You can even be a manager. But you’d better do your job right or you’ll get sacked by the club owners (other players). As a manager, you’ll need to set the right tactics to dominate your opponents as well as scout and bid for players to improve your club’s team. Skill trumps luck, so the competition is real. Powered by the XAYA blockchain-gaming platform, SME is an MMO that runs without servers. It works in a decentralised P2P fashion and is like no other manager game before it. Check out more information on the forum: https://forum.xaya.io/forum/22-general/ Taurion Update Taurion development is coming along very well and we expect to have a competition style demo ready in around a month (more info coming soon). There’s lots of work going on under-the-hood for the core game, and the GUI is looking beautiful with translucent controls. Here are some screenshots and artwork. Check out the latest development update here: https://forum.xaya.io/topic/520-taurion-april-2019-development-update/ MMX Partnership XAYA has partnered with MMX and we’ve been working to help bring new functionality to their platform. Specifically, we’ve been working to integrate human readable .luxe addresses for use with Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses, which aren’t human readable. Minds + Machines Group Limited (MMX) is a leading domain registry centered around geographic, professional occupation, consumer interest, outdoor activity, and generic top-level domains, e.g. .london, .law, .cooking, .yoga, .fishing, .vip, etc. The company has partnered with the lead developers of the Namecoin blockchain and XAYA platform to develop an “easy-to-use naming solution that will integrate human readable .luxe addresses with bitcoin alphanumeric addresses in a fully secure and decentralised fashion.” (source) XAYA is proud to partner with MMX in order to help bring their customers new functionality that integrates traditional domain names with blockchain technology. MMX will add in functionality for .luxe domains to contain special data, such as Bitcoin addresses for payments, contact information, and other data. This data will be stored on the XAYA blockchain while .luxe-enabled wallets and applications will read that data and provide secure and seamless integration of .luxe domain names with blockchain technology. Blockchain Gaming Alliance We are proud to announce that we have joined the BGA, an important industry association for games that incorporate blockchain technology. http://blockchaingamealliance.org/ The Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA) is a coalition of game and blockchain companies committed to advocating for blockchain technologies within the game industry since it offers significant opportunities for innovation. The BGA provides an open forum for stakeholders to share knowledge and collaborate on research which fosters new ways to create, publish, and play games. By joining this industry organisation, we hope to help push blockchain gaming into the mainstream where both game developers and gamers can reap the benefits of blockchain technology. Further, membership may help boost the profile of the XAYA platform and make it more visible for developers looking to create truly decentralised blockchain games. ### https://medium.com/@XAYA/big-4-updates-fdd3393c66cb
  12. The Soccer Manager Elite beta sign up is live. You must sign up if you wish to participate in the beta program. The announcement is here: You can sign up here: https://soccermanagerelite.com/
  13. If you're getting a confirmation message like that, you should be good. Perhaps @SM Alex can chime in to verify.
  14. @crypto_investor The previous owners were on board. Maybe you're right and the new owners are less enthusiastic. Cross fingers.
  15. Is that a Poloniex support reply? Been there. It's a very hard lesson, and can be extremely painful. You have my sympathy. I hope Poloniex follows through, even if late.
  16. Daniel responded to another post of yours here: He's really the top guy to ask. I wrote the tutorial materials, so I can also help answer, though not in such an authoritative was as Daniel. I'd recommend starting reading the tutorials in order. Once you finish, you'll know 99% of everything and be easily ready to get started on your game. https://github.com/xaya/xaya_tutorials/wiki Of course, skip the ones you don't need, e.g. Hello World! in C++ vs C# or the ones about compiling libxayagame for Ubuntu vs Windows, etc. The "Hello World! in C++" and the Mover tutorials are rather long. The most important part in the Mover tutorials is understanding the forwards callback. You can skip the backwards callback most likely as you'll probably want to write your game using libxayagame's xaya::SQLiteGame. If you're doing it online, I'd ask Daniel about what sort of architecture would be best.

    New Richlist Site

Personally, I think 8 minutes is pretty high resolution. I don't think any further speed will be meaningful.
  18. Sorry. I'd forgotten to add in a download link as we were also in the middle of consolidating the code into a single repo. I've added the download link now. Also, please note that we've consolidated all of the tutorial code into 1 nice and easy repository here: https://github.com/xaya/XAYA_tutorial_code It is easiest to simply clone or download the entire repo rather than try to download individual files one at a time. Links throughout the tutorial wiki have been updated as well. Hopefully this will make it easier and more convenient for people. There are also a few content changes, but nothing spectacular. They're all relatively minor.
  19. An Unreal Engine Hello World would most certainly be a good addition, and yes - I think wiring it up with SQLiteGame makes sense. The documentation and tutorials are still "in progress". Another significant update is coming to help make using it easier and more convenient.
  20. I've added a new tutorial for xaya::SQLiteGame here: https://github.com/xaya/xaya_tutorials/wiki/Hello-World-with-SQLite For game developers, this will be a MUST read as libxayagame's SQLiteGame offers some incredible advantages over a CachingGame, including massive scalability for immense game worlds. There are also many other edits, tweaks, updates, improvements, etc. For those wishing to learn more about daemon operation, there's more content in there now for that, e.g. the xaya.conf document, etc.
  21. @DarkClaw Thanks for all that! (And sorry I didn't see this all sooner.) I've updated the Ubuntu libxayagame build doc (I knew we should've put in "sudo ldconfig" there just in case) and the Hello World C++ for that single quote. Regarding the name_update and the bash error, you can use a space, e.g.: osboxes@osboxes:~/xaya$ ./xaya-cli -rpcuser=user -rpcpassword=password name_update "p/Road Runner" "{\"g\":{\"helloworld\":{\"m\":\"Hello Wile E. Coyote! \"}}}" d70393029638a494b0771a778d39766e5ea0806f29e0af9a0116d86361e81a73 You can also "set +H" to turn off that ! bash history: osboxes@osboxes:~/xaya$ set +H osboxes@osboxes:~/xaya$ ./xaya-cli -rpcuser=user -rpcpassword=password name_update "p/Road Runner" "{\"g\":{\"helloworld\":{\"m\":\"Hello Wile E. Coyote!\"}}}" 0f1c0f5ee32af773a2edb869ed3c5fa75d8e8edc1d53ee169a28118be5aa0ecc See here for more information on that: https://serverfault.com/questions/208265/what-is-bash-event-not-found I've updated the C++ tutorial with a note to help people get around that. For the Mover move format, it's in 2 places (other than in the C# tutorial): https://github.com/xaya/xaya_tutorials/wiki/Mover-Console-Tutorial#a-quick-look-at-moves https://github.com/xaya/xaya_tutorials/wiki/Unity-Mover-Tutorial#making-a-move The other Mover doc is only a very high-level overview without any details.
  22. I'm not voting there. My vote is for whatever make most sense in development to push Treat Fighter forward. I want to see Treat Fighter be successful, so whatever makes most sense for TF has my vote. We all knew that it was beta testing, so... wherever the cards may land, they land. Beta on any mainnet is risky. We all know that and were willing to play along. (I do treasure my Bronze Treat Fighter though. I'd like to keep that. I gave away my CHI winnings to other players. It was only that precious, rare Bronze Treat Fighter that I wanted.) But, if I have to sacrifice that for the future advancement of TF... let it be. Do whatever gets TF to a final release! (But I do dearly love my Bronze Treat Fighter!)

    BitMesh Now Trading CHI

Fantastic! Thank you for that. 👍 Hopefully we'll see more exchanges picking CHI up.
  24. In addition to Liquid.com, BitMesh.com is now trading CHI in the following pairs: CHI/BTC CHI/USDT The official BitMesh announcement is here: https://help.bitmesh.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019567373 BitMesh has no fiat trading, and as such has far less regulatory overhead for KYC/AML. People that previously couldn't register with Liquid can now trade CHI easier with BitMesh.
  25. The XAYA team have been working night & day on development and we have some exciting progress updates for you. TAURION "Project X" has finally earned a name: Taurion. Taurion is a true blockchain game. It runs 100% on the blockchain, serverless and unstoppable. It incorporates the same type of play-2-earn gaming experience that we pioneered in 2013 with Huntercoin, i.e. Human Mining. Taurion will also incorporate Xaya ID (xid). Xaya ID is a dapp that allows secure, trustless chat and communication. We're currently running Taurion on regtest and testnet. While it's not ready for the general public, you can find videos of different game-play elements in our first post on Taurion here. More information about the game, the backstory, and game mechanics is available at that link. DEVELOPMENT Development is fast and furious. There are continual code commits all the time and you can see them for yourself in any of our GitHub repositories. Keep in mind that there are other private repositories that are continually being updated as well. Some highlights include: xid Xaya Id is a new addition. This dapp turns every XAYA name into a secure digital identity! While there are entire blockchains dedicated to just this 1 feature, on XAYA it's just a dapp, which should help illustrate just how powerful the XAYA platform is. However, more than just secure IDs, Xaya ID enables secure chat and communications through ejabbered, an enterprise quality solution for massively scalable communications through XMPP, MQTT and SIP. nsgminer & ccminer For miners, we've released 2 repos. Make sure to drop by our Mining forum for help if you need it. ****** Check out the Current Development Status thread for discussions and more information. DOCUMENTATION More documentation and tutorials are being added and improved all the time. Check out the documentation and tutorials wiki here. ****** For both code and docs that you're interested in, make sure to keep your eye on when they were last updated because chances are the next time you look at them, we'll have added some great stuff or made some nice improvements.
